Manufactures of Aeroplanes- Boeing,Airbus and others.
Every time when you see a report on the airlines in the
newspaper like accident or emergency landing, you must have noticed that they
always mention the name of the plane like “The plane diverted to Mumbai was a Boeing-777 of Emirates or Airbus-330 of Qatar airways”. So what
they belong to or what they represent? In this blog I am going to write all
about the manufactures of planes?
In any market there are always 2 sides. One who sells and
another who purchases. In our case there are so many manufactures of planes. Like Boeing from USA, Airbus From Europe and that’s it. 2/3rd
of planes currently flying commercially are made by one of these 2
manufactures. You can clearly see the dominance of these 2 companies in the
aviation industry, but what about the rest 1/3rd?
Rest are made by so many small companies like Embraer from Brazil, Bombardier from Canada.
Rest are made by so many small companies like Embraer from Brazil, Bombardier from Canada.
These 4 companies are
actually ruling the skies since the DAY 1 of commercial aviation . Now Boeing is
famous for the jumbo 747 , Airbus is famous for the super jumbo 380, Embraer is
famous for E-jet family and Bombardier for CRJ family and C series.
First talk about the Embraer and Bombardier. These 2 companies are famous for making small planes. The Embraer E jets are quite efficient in small airports and they can land on short runways, steep approach angles. In USA there are more than 400 airports and many of them are small airports. At these airports Embraer and Bombardier planes rule as the planes need there should be small and many airports have noise restrictions . So these planes can land easily over there.

Now let’s talk about the new giant of the industry. THE
AIRBUS. The company has plane models like starts from here- A300,A310,A318,A319,A320,A321,A330,A340,A350,A380.
Here A denotes for Airbus and the number after that denotes the model no. Each
no signifies the type, range and capacity, weight of plane . In the table below
you can clearly see the details of these numbers and if you switch between any
number the aircraft will be a different one. There is a skill to distinguish
between the planes. The Popular plane from the airbus is A320 and A380. The
A320 family consists of 318,319,320 and 321. More than 5000 planes are sold and The A380 is the biggest passenger plane in the world
& One can easily distinguish the A380 as it has a fully double décor
fuselage.

Now let’s talk about the mega giant of the aviation BOEING.
The company models start like this-B737,B747,B767,B787 . Here B stands for
boeing and after that the number signifies the type of aircraft . Many of you
may ask about 707,727 but they were gone. They rarely exist. Boeing 737 is
one of the successful planes in all over the world and recently boeing launched
it’s 737 max version. More than 10,000 737s were already built and it’s still
running smoothly. On average , a 737 takes off or lands somewhere on earth
every 5 seconds. Boeing is also known for the 747 or called as the queen of the
sky. I had already posted a blog about 747.Here are some of the numbers-

You can see some of the planes have more than one variants.Actually they are upgraded versions. If we will see at the 737, 737 max is the
latest version of that specific model. There is a huge difference in both of them. Technology is growing rapidly and that's why planes need to be upgraded for better performance. Here are some pictures of Boeing planes-

-So every plane is unique in it's class. it totally depends upon the airline what they choose for them to fly. Like B737 & A320 are extremely useful when they fly regional routes because they have short range and they sit perfectly in the regional routes like INDIGO is flying their A320 from Delhi to Bhubaneswar or RYAN AIR flies their B737 from Dublin to London.
-Similarly A350,A380,B777,B787 all these planes have very long range and they have more seats rather than others . So these planes can be used for the long routes like AIR INDIA flies their B777 from New york to Delhi, CATHAY PACIFIC flies their A350 from Hong kong to Auckland, EMIRATES flies thier A380 from DUBAI to LONDON & QANTAS flies their B787 from Perth to Sidney. These are all depend upon the airlines how they use it. If they will put right planes in the right routes, they will be more profitable.
