Major Aviation Events in 2017 . #Throwback2k17
As 2017 is over and we all are welcoming this new year with a great hope , here i am going to cover the major events happened in aviation all over the world in 2017. So lets get started.
-The major and hearbreaking moment of 2017 was , we are not going to see the2nd largest airline of germany i.e. AIRBERLIN to be flying again..Air Berlin's last flight melts hearts from Munich to Berlin on october 27.
-Earlier in 2017 Monarch airline ceases it's operation .This move left 110,000customers stranded overseas and 300,000 future booking canceled.
-Also FlyVikings to cease operations in 2018,january.
-India's national airliner Air India, after loosing a lot of money and gaining a huge loss day by day , the national carrier is going to be privatized. Most probably TATA will overtake this in near future.
-On feb5,2017,qatar airways flight 921(QR921) from Aukland,newszland to doha ,qatar & it's return flight 920 was recorded as the longest flight of the year nonstop by great circle distance of 14534km(7,848 nMi) on a B777-200LR. it took around 18hr10 min. to complete this long flight.
-Two giants of the sky Boeing and Airbus delivered so many planes this year too. Boeing,till 19dec,2017,has 844 orders and delivered total 680 aircrafts. In the other hand Airbus ,till nov 2017, delivered 333 jetliners.
-Boeing gets the new contract of 600M$ to design the new airforce one. Two new B747-8 will replace the two B747-200 to serve as the presidential airforce one fleet.
-Honda jet wins the inagural flying innovation award.

-Qatar airways has been named as the world's best airline at the SKYTRAX 2017.The Doha based carrier won this award for the fourth time.They also won other major awards like world's best business class,world's best first class lounge and as the best airline in the middle-east.
Singapore airline was ranked no 2 ,also received the best airine in Asia.Japanese airline ANA was ranked no 3. Emirates,Cathy Pacific,Eva air,Lufthansa,Etihad Aiways, hainan Airlines,garuda Indonesia was in top 10 respectively.
-Singapore,changi airport was declared as the best airport of 2017.
-The chatrapati shivaji int. airport,mumbai on nov25, saturday created a world record by handling 969 flights in 24 hrs from 24th nov 5.30 am to 25th nov 5.30 am .Technically being a single runway airport , it is a huge achievement for mumbai.
-On 16th october,2017 Bombardier partners with Airbus for the C-series aircraft program. Under this agreement ,Airbus will provide procurement,sales,marketing and customer support expertise to the c series aircraft limited partnership. Airbus will acquire 50.01% intrest in CSALP.
-on august 21,2017 the solar eclipse was about 70 miles wide and airlines gave a great chance to their passengers to watch it more closely. Alaska airlines,united,southwest,etihad and many more tried to gave the best view to their passengers .
-2017 was almost the safest year in history for passengers around world. No major crashes recorded this year.The first fatal accident was recorded in october. An Embraer brasiia operating as an air ambulance crashed and 7 people died and some more small accidents.In 2015 there are 471 people died ,in 2016 there are 215people died in plane crash..
-On 3rd nov 2017,emirats got the delivery of their 100th Airbus A380. Currently emirats is the largest operator of A80 all over the world.Emirates gave a special tribute to the late HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al Nahyan ,founding father of unitd Arab Emirats,on this special livery.

-Two mega giants Airbus and boeing tried some new plans this year . Airbus cam with their NEO livery and Boeing came with their 737-max-8 and max-9. Also China and Russia tried their own luck with their brand new commercial plane. China came with C919 and Russia cam with MC-21. Let's see what happens to these plans in 2018.
-The PARIS AIRSHOW 2017. All over again Boeing outsells Airbus at Paris airshow.Boing won a massive 571 orders but Airbus won only 336. Boeing's 737Max,787 Dreamliner & 777X won it entirely. Airbus also introduced it's A380-plus.
-2017 also came with the cheapest privet jet of all time . Available only in $1.96M (12.64 crore),the Diminutive Cirrus is the cheapest private jet. Carrying up to 5 adults and 2 children,it can go around 2220 km non-stop with top speed of 440 km/hr.Till date company has already received 600 orders.

-THE ALL NEW BOEING 797-RUMORS OR TRUTH??
The world has been given a peek at Boeing's plans for a new small twin-aisle aircraft, unofficially dubbed the 797.Boeing (BA) released the first image of its new "middle-market airplane" at the Paris Air Show on Tuesday as a teaser for what will be the company's first new airliner since its 787 Dreamliner.
It's been nearly six years since the Dreamliner first went into service after a decade in development. And the new Boeing jet has become the most anticipated airplane in commercial aviation.Industry leaders have started calling it the 797, the next in the 60 year series that started with the Boeing 707.
The jet will be tailored to offer relief to congested airports on routes such as New York to Los Angeles, but should also be efficient enough to serve medium-range flights connecting the U.S. to smaller European cities, for example.
It would seat between 220 and 270 passengers for flights of up to 5,200 nautical miles, or just over 10 hours.Boeing believes there could be a market for more than 4,000 such aircraft over 20 years starting around 2025 when the 797 would first fly with airlines.
The jet would fill a gap between Boeing's single-aisle 737 workhorse and its advanced long range 787.
